The city of Henderson in Clark County appeared in the mid-1940s. Upon its inception, it became the United State’s main supplier of magnesium and was vital to the World War II efforts. Located 16 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Henderson is currently Nevada’s second largest city. As of 2017, the population was estimated at more than 300,000 people.
